【声明】東日本大震災から14年を迎えて／[Statement] 14 Years Have Passed Since the Great East Japan Earthquake

　本日、東北地方太平洋沖地震を発端とした東日本大震災から14年を迎えます。この震災でお亡くなりになられた方々、遺族の方々に深い哀悼の意を表します。また、被災された方々に心よりお見舞い申し上げます。 14年経過した今でも、2000人以上の行方不明者がいらっしゃいます。一刻も早くご家族のもとへ戻られるよう、お祈り申し上げます。 

　私たちは、この震災で多くの大切なものを失くしました。何事もなく、健康で生きていることがどれだけありがたいことなのか、奇跡的なことなのか、これでもかというほど思い知らされました。東日本大震災を経験していない、経験したことを覚えていない世代が増えてきました。震災を経験した私たちにとって、これを決して忘れず、目にしたこと、感じたことを未来に伝えていくことが、非常に大切なことだと思います。明日の日本のため、自分のためにできることを考え、ともに行動に移していきましょう。

　最後に2つお願いがあります。例年ではありますが、Yahoo JapanとLINEで「3.11」と検索することで、1回10円の募金活動になります。また、このことを広く共有することでたくさんの方々が募金に協力してくださり、多くの方々の生活がよりよいものとなります。どうかよろしくお願いいたします。また、地震発生時刻である14時46分、1分間の黙祷を捧げさせていただきましょう。 すべての被災地の復興を心よりお祈り申し上げます。

Today marks 14 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake, which was triggered by the Tohoku-Pacific Ocean Earthquake. We express our deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in this disaster and to the bereaved families. We would also like to express our heartfelt sympathy to those affected by the disaster. Fourteen years on, more than 2,000 people are still missing. We pray that they will be able to return to their families as soon as possible.

We lost many precious things in this disaster. We have been reminded of how grateful we are to be alive and healthy, and how miraculous it is that we are still alive and well. An increasing number of people in our generation have not experienced the Great East Japan Earthquake and do not remember what they experienced. For those of us who experienced the disaster, it is extremely important that we never forget this and pass on what we saw and felt to the future. Let us think about what we can do for ourselves and for the Japan of tomorrow, and take action together.

Finally, we have two requests. As in previous years, search for ‘3.11’ on Yahoo Japan and LINE to raise 10 yen each time. Also, by sharing this widely, many people will help us to raise funds and many people's lives will be made better. Please help us. Let us also observe a minute of silence at 2.46pm, the time of the earthquake. We sincerely hope for the recovery of all affected areas.
