【声明】79回目の終戦記念日を迎えて／[Statement] On the 79th Memorial Day of the End of World War II

　本日は79回目の終戦記念日です。すべての戦没者とご遺族の方々に最大の哀悼の意を捧げます。今日我々がこのように生きているのは、我が国の行く末を案じ戦われた方々の命と苦難の歴史があってのことです。衷心より、敬意と感謝の念を捧げるとともに、御霊安かれと心よりお祈り申し上げます。また、今なお原子爆弾や空襲に起因する後遺症により苦しんでいる方々に、心よりお見舞い申し上げます。

　この惨劇を繰り返しては、繰り返させてはなりません。我々は、戦闘のない、平和な世の中をお祈りし、我が国が再び開戦国となることのないよう、一組織、一国民として、日本国を正しい方向へ導くことを誓います。また、日本国政府に対し、我が国が近隣諸国及び世界から攻撃を受け、再び我が国が戦場とならないよう、国防力を上げることを求めます。

　今般、社会情勢は刻一刻と変化しています。ロシア連邦によるウクライナ侵略、イスラム組織ハマスによるイスラエル攻撃、それに対するイスラエルによるパレスチナへの報復、東アジアにおける中華人民共和国による力を用いた一方的な現状変更の試みなど、挙げようとすると底をつきません。このような情勢の中、我々人間は生きなければなりません。戦闘を仕掛けている、もしくは武力を弄んでいる国家・組織に対し、それを止めるよう圧力をかけていく必要があります。我々は、すべての国の首長に、これを求めます。

Today is the 79th End of War II Memorial Day. I would like to offer my deepest condolences to all the war dead and their bereaved families. We are alive today because of the lives and hardships of those who fought for the future of our country. We offer our deepest respect and gratitude to them, and we pray from the bottom of our hearts that their spirits may rest in peace. Also, we would like to express our heartfelt sympathy to those who are still suffering from the aftereffects of the atomic bombings and air raids.

We must not repeat this tragedy, and we must not let it happen again. We pray for a peaceful world, free from fighting, and pledge that we, as one organization and one people, will lead Japan in the right direction so that our country will never again become an open warring nation. We also call on the Japanese government to increase its defense capability so that our country will not be attacked by neighboring countries or the world and become a battlefield again.

The social situation is changing by the minute. The invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, the attack on Israel by the Islamic organization Hamas, Israel's retaliation against Palestine, and the attempt by the People's Republic of China in East Asia to unilaterally change the status quo through force, to name a few, are endless. In such a situation, we human beings must live. We need to put pressure on those nations and organizations that are fighting or playing with force to stop doing so. We call on all heads of state and government to do this.
